NO THUMBS? NO PROBLEM

A series of kitchenware designed to facillitate those without a thumb.

Mr Zolfaghari lost his thumb to skin cancer in 1993.

To assist with drinking we 3D printed cup with indents for the index, second and third fingers allowing the user to hold the cup single handedly. We also designed a set of ceramic bowls, each with an exaggerated lip to assist with scooping food back into the users hand.

Existing cutlery was modified by slightly altering the angle of the head and filing grooves into the handles. The small changes ensured the products we produced would seem no different than those used by people with thumbs.
